I don't mind moving back to...

A place, ten thousands times smaller than London. A place where you see trees more than people. A place where you would feel safe wherever you go. A place where you can cross the road without looking. A place where nothing is available after 9 pm. A place where you are encourage to cook at home since there are barely no restaurants. A place where there's literally nothing to do. A place where the supermarket is your neighbour as well as the train station, the centre, the hospital, etc. A place where it's silent every single day. A place where I would call my home. A place where it used to be my home. A place where I used to belong.

Screw this, I need a break from the big city.

work hard, play hard

I keep hearing this motto from a certain guy, "If you work hard, you gotta play hard as well". So I guess, saying yes on going out this friday and saturday would not do any harm. Although I promised myself not to but I totally deserve having fun after all these hard work I've been through this week. And I also, I get a chance to wear my new dress from Lanvin's collection for H&M. It's gorgeous and I promise I'll let you guys see it as well.

What inspired me at the V&A museum

I have been ask to visit the V&A Museum and choose an item that inspired me, as well as describing the object and the general exhibition at the V&A. Looking back at that point of time, finding an inspiration was not that hard. Everything I observed was more or less inspiring. It could be a piece of garment behind glass-encrusted walls or a strange looking statue that you can’t even describe. However, if I happen to walk pass this strange looking statue somewhere outside, I supposedly wouldn’t even look at it. But, putting all these items on a Museum, it influences me in a way of thinking in depth and from different perspectives. Why does this statue look so strange that it actually looks kind of cool? Who made it and what was the person thinking? Is it functional or is it just a piece of rock that just wasted my time. Moving on, saw a sign that literally took my mind a run. Quickly did I go, through the opening, into the one and only Fashion exhibition at the V&A.  This is where I belong, full of colours, patterns, materials, textiles, fabrics etc. All these things form a masterpiece. For example, we have the gorgeous evening dress from Jean Patou and the pair of sequin shoes from Vivienne Westwood and so forth.

Ultimately, I found my inspirational at the Fashion exhibition. A dress designed by Alexander McQueen for his last Spring/Summer collection. A detailed dress, that gave me an intense imagination, that touched my emotions and that set my creative thinking in action. The colours and the patterns go so well together in that dress and it just acknowledging what a master Alexander McQueen is. Moreover, what is the most interesting in this part is the futuristic vision. I couldn’t help but thinking how the future would look like when I saw that dress. Not only the future in general but it also gave me an innovative vision of fashion. Compare to the other items at the fashion exhibition, Alexander McQueen’s dress, according to me, is the future, whilst the other clothing were from different time line but they still inspires and influences a lot in our present time.

At last, I actually achieved an outcome out of the exhibition. I have learned a lot more about different fashion designer and how they work in different ways.  I thought this assessment gave me a meaningful and useful experience and I now feel that I want to see more, learn more and know more.

Here's another dress designed by Franco Moschino. Pretty innovative huh?

And here's something out of fashion. It's a "hide and seek" board made by Hiroko Matsushita. Cute isn't it?

Helen's outfit of today

Coat/CHRISTIAN DIOR, scarf/BURBERRY and a cute beanie

I'm not kidding, this kid wear more fashionable clothes than I do. Isn't she cute in her outfit? I bet she could do kid modelling. hmm.. I wonder what her mom would say about it.

My outfit last saturday night

For saturday night out, I wore a top/TOPSHOP, skirt/CHINA, heels/ZARA, bag/MINELLI RENATO, belt/VINTAGE

I'll tell you guys about the oriental party later. But it was definitely one of my best night out.

Horoscope of today

Saturday Nov 20 2010

Let your home be the center of your world today and throughout tomorrow too. Leo, You always have the fiery need to be the center of what's happening, and to enjoy whatever excitement is within your midst. But that doesn't mean you have to get out and about to seek the fun and sense of discovery that you crave. You happen to be a consummate host, so there's no reason you can't invite a few of your funniest, most inspiring friends or relatives over for a cozy dinner tonight or brunch tomorrow.

This is so true. I need to cut down on clubbin or other sort of outdoor excitement that include drinking. I've been out almost every weekend now and sometimes even gone out on a weekday. Too bad, I can't listen to my horoscope today because I got an invitation of an oriental(asian) club to attend tonight. My first oriental party here so I have to try it out.

Sorry, not this time my dear Horoscope.

family comes first no matter what

a good day

Apart from the insomnia last night, the stressful morning, several delayed trains, twenty minutes late from class, two hours of non-focusing-almost-sleeping lecture, haven't had anything to eat beside a sandwhich, taking the wrong train home and ended up in first class seats where businessmen in suit starring strangely at me and still it was a good day. I smiled, knowing how a horrible day could turn out so good. All these hard work really do pays off. Well done.

Helen tiptoe into my room, brought snacks with her this time.

Helen is enjoying her snacks...

then suddenly there was nothing left..

and she was clearly not happy about it.

My favorite garment of the year

... is my beloved cape from Topshop. I absolutely love it! Perfect for autumn and even winter if you wear a big jumper and that wont even tell because of its oversize. Too bad these capes are not as functional as I would like it to be. As you can see in the picture, I'm always wearing it improperly especially when rushing to school as my bag drag the other side down. Also when I'm letting someone holding my arm and can't get through lol.

The price is around £90, a bit expensive but I thought of it as a good investment since I'm willing to keep it for the rest of my life. Also I got discount so it was totally worth it!

You can find these capes here. They are offering it in different colors as well! Now I can't help but want the black one too lol.

Can't help but looking through my holiday pictures

Hong Kong, and that's me. This picture makes me think how much time has changed in such short time. From being that small town girl to a big city girl. How innocent I was back then, how I saw life differently back then and now all that has changed. It's not negative, nor positive. It's just my way of living my life.

nine ladybugs

So far I've found nine ladybugs in my room. Does it means that I got nine luck? Too bad I've smashed six of them.

just 1% more...

99% done with my report, just 1% more. Unfortunately the 1% of motivation is gone. Instead I ended up here playing with my photoshop skills rather than doing the retail marketing blabla on my report. I should be sleeping after a rough day of studying tho but this is way more fun.

Welcome to uni life

One report and two presentation this week. Why didn't I start earlier, where is the motivation, who's willing to push me? I might as well bury myself under books.

And don't even mention next week.
I want holiday.

underwater fashion photography

I am completely speechless. My eyes are wide open, my mouth keeps uttering "wow" but in a non-vocal sound and my arms suddenly got weird dots, it might be goose bumps but I'm not sure.

Take a look at Mallory Morrison underwater fashion photography and maybe someone could tell me what's happening to me.

Here are some of my favourites. I can't believe it was shot underwater.

Fashion exibition at V&A museum

Everyone should attend V&A museum when visitng London. It's huge but it's worth it especially the fashion exhibition. By reason of attending V&A museum, we practically have to choose an item for our "art work" and promote it to the class, in other words; taking an inspired item and making it on your own like for example: a pair of sequin trousers, inspired by the details, creating let say a hat in sequins. Get it? I will not reveal what kind of item we'd chosen and what we are going to do with it but when we are done, I'll let you know.

This shoe below is designed by Vivenne Westwood.
Satin platform with sequins, made in Italy for Biba, London, 1972. Look at the date, omg and I would wear them today or no I would kill to wear them now!

Appreciate people you love before they're gone

We need to appreciate the people we have today because they may not be here tomorrow. I am not sayin we should only appreciate the ones we love but also the ones we don't. People in general, people around you but particulary people who you do not want to disappear.

LMU for Lord Mayor's parade

I want to thank my dance group and my university for letting me be a part of this amazing parade. I had so much fun although the dance went a bit disastrous since the parade moved so fast but we just played along and had fun with it. My dad even saw me on BBC channel. How cool isn't that? My one second of fame haha but I'm glad to be able and present my uni.

So after the sweating, hourse poo stamping, three miles of dancing, I went straight home, took a shower and went out clubbing with my lovely dance group at Picadilly Circus. Another sweaty dancing night lol but I had an amazing time so thanks again.

London Metropolitan University <3

Lord Mayor's Parade, here we come!

Don't miss out Lord Mayor's parade tomorrow for those who lives in London. It starts at 11 and the easy way to get there is to take the tube to Bank or St Pauls and if you'll notice how busy the street is then you're in the right position. I will not only be be there but in the parade as well! Oh yes, me and my dance group will be representing our university together with the choir and the cheerleaders at that parade. I'm so looking forward this although I haven't nailed the dance yet but it doesn't matter, I'll have fun even if I might fall on hourse shit. (yes, there'll be hourses before us) And BBC will be there so I might get a second of fame haha. Anyways come and see us and support us!

Did I say study is a priority? I meant photobooth.

fashion blog?

I've been having this idea, running a "fashion blog" since I'm studying the Fashion industry as part in my module. So a fashion blog is not a fashion blog unless you post your outfit, your shopping list, cravings and other fashion updates and news. So I might give it a try but I still would want to keep this blog personal, like what's happening in my daily life in London. Anyways, I start with showing off my shopping goods from London, so here's a bird ring or actually two of them. Primark, €2 and the other one behind was bought in China.

late update..

I almost forgot uploading my last halloween outfit and telling you what I did on that special event. Well I've been attending two halloween party this year, one at Rocket Complex and one at Elephant Castle. Both parties was really good but I had more fun at Rocket Complex, although it's much smaller but it will always be our place for us Londonmet students. That's why it's special but the party at Elephant Castle was huuuge. Everyone was dressing up more or less. Some of them were really scary and I thought that I was scary. Dead sailor girl... hm, maybe not but if you'd seen me you would! Anyways, here's a picture of me. Told you I was scary.

study is a priority

I'm sorry for not keeping you guys updated but I got so many course work at uni which is getting harder and harder. I'm trying to keep it up but to be honest I've been lazy lately which is a horrible excuse so I have to shape up and commit myself into action because action brings your dream closer. Isn't that right?

I actually didn't expected to be this much at my first year in university. When entering university you will notice how much pressure it will give you and it's not an easy life here which many of you might think since I've only been posting the good part. So don't underestimate student life especially the first year and remember study is a priority. Work hard and treat yourself when you know you deserved it. Right now I know I don't but I will.
